The Royal City Youth Ballet Company is a registered Society formed in 1989. We bridge the gap between dance schools and professional companies. We are a non-profit organization which presents professional productions with elaborate costumes, sets and lighting. Performing at a high level is a dream which every dancer possesses and each deserves the opportunity.

Celebrating twenty one years of entertaining audiences across the Lower Mainland and Internationally, Royal City Youth Ballet Company’s, Artistic Director, Dolores Kirkwood, proud recipient of the 2009 Order of British Columbia, will be holding Auditions for RCYB Company Members in Room 3260, Douglas College, New Westminster, September 12, 2009 beginning at 12 noon. Children, with dance experience, age 7 years and up may audition. Following these auditions, dancers selected as 2009-10 Company Members will have the opportunity to audition for RCYB’s annual presentation of the Christmas favorite “Nutcracker” to be performed in November & December 2009, including encore performances in Medicine Hat, Alberta. On Sunday, September 13, 2009, also at Douglas College, The Royal City Youth Ballet Company will hold Open Auditions for “Nutcracker” 2009. As a non-profit organization, support from the community is a necessity. Our aim is to present the most professional production possible, not only in our dancers, but also with sets, lighting, costumes, programs, etc. The cost of putting on such productions is great.
